Corporal punishment alleged at Demow primary school

DEMOW, February 27: A Class III student of 120 No Dehajan Kachumari Primary School was injured, allegedly after being assaulted by his teacher. The accused teacher Kusum Changmai allegedly hit the student on his leg, back and ear. The victim Irfan Ali was subjected to the torture after he failed to read a paragraph properly during a environmental studies class.  The student revealed the incident to his parents in the evening after which his guardians lodged a complaint.  The injured student was brought to the Demow Primary Hospital for treatment. No action has been taken against the teacher as yet.
