Corruption in Batadrava-Kuji Sattra Link Road Construction, Carpeting can be Removed with Hands!

Nagaon: Construction of road using poor quality materials on Batadrava- Kuji sattra PWD link road brews deep resentments among the Villagers of Gosaikhanda under Batadrava Constituency in Nagaon.

As per allegations made by local people, the 15 k.m long road was constructed under a world bank funded Scheme and the road carpeting was completed a week before. But the locals found that the construction was of very poor quality as they were able to remove the carpeting with their bare hands.

Locals said that the repair work of the road was allotted to a contractor identified as Ramesh Agarwala and earlier they had informed it to MLA Angoorlata Deka many times but unfortunately the MLA had not taken any step.

The locals have demanded the MLA as well as the State PWD minister to initiate an inquiry against the Contractor. It is worth mentioning that the Batadrava-Kuji Satra link road is used by the Commuters of Nagaon-Morigaon district as an alternate road for visiting Batadrava, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev. It was in deplorable Condition for a decade in during the Congress regime due to former MLA Gautam Borah's negligence.
