From Our Correspondent

Itagar, May 30: The Confederation of Service Association of Aruchal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has served an ultimatum to the state government for immediate fulfillment of its demands on or before June 27. The demands include enhancement of retirement age of state government employees from 58 to 60, modification of NOC required for promotion and retirement and opting out of state government employees from the Chief Minister Universal Health Insurance Scheme. Demanding immediate implementation of Medical Attendance Rule that prescribes  reimbursement for government employees, COSAAP president Pate Marik told reporters at Aruchal Press Club here that the state government has been sitting on this rule since 2005.

The CoSAAP also said NOC (no-objection certificate) required for government employees should be made applicable to all citizens. The confederation further demanded implementation of children education and transport allowance, all-India leave travel concession and payment of ad hoc bonus to non-gazetted employees within 2017.

The confederation threatened to go on indefinite non-cooperation movement from June 28 if their demands are not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, the CoSAAP took serious note of the attack on the Audit and pension director in his office chamber and resolved to organise a peaceful rally in Itagar and harlagun on May 31. It urged employees irrespective of cadre and position, the civil society and NGOs to participate.
