Council employees bring out rally demanding pending salary

Haflong, July 26: Demanding immediate release of salary and judicial enquiry into the incident of police lathicharge on protesting employees, the NCHACEU along with other student organizations took out a protest rally at Haflong on Wednesday. The rally started from the council office and marched through major parts of Haflong and converged in front of the office of the Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner’s office. They submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister requesting for his intervention through the Deputy Commissioner.
 NCHACEU has been agitating from July 10 and demanding pending salary of 10 months. They also demanded introduction of permit system and instead of  low rate mahal system for improvement fund position and to pressurize Assam Government to spare 50 per cent of Neepco royalty paid to Assam Government at 6 per cent of total profit annually to the council.
 While talking to the media, Prassa Hasnu, president of NCHACEU, appealed to the Chief Minister to solve the problems of the NCHACEU. David Keivom, president of NCHISF, also supported the rally and highlighted the issue in favour of NCHACEU.
