Country-made liquor seized

Rangia, Jan 7: Rangia police led by SI Ra Bhuyan seized 2,000 litres of country-made liquor from Rangia  NH 31 on Thursday morning.  Acting on tip-off, Rangia police conducted a search operation on different bus and small vehicles this morning. The police recovered 2,000 litres liquor from a Guwahati-bound bus (No.AS 01 DC 2196) and from a small vehicle without number plate. Six women were detained for alleged smuggling of country-made liquor to different places of Assam, police sources said. Police destroyed the seized liquor. A case has been registered at Rangia police station.
