Couple commits suicide by jumping into Dikhow river

Sivasagar, July 6: A couple, Sanjib Bhuyan and his wife Hira Deka Bhuyan, reportedly committed suicide by jumping into Dikhow River on Wednesday.

tives of Joysagar, Bhuyan and his wife were seen near Talatal Ghar on Wednesday morning where they had a quarrel, said eye witnesses, and added that Bhuyan tried to convince his wife and tried to take her in his motorcycle, which she refused. At around 10.30 am the couple came to the Dikhow bridge and jumped into the river. The incident came into light when some people heard the sound of water. A desperate search operation which went on after the incident by local divers, proved futile. A pall of gloom descended on the locality with the tragic incident. Police recovered Bhuyan’s bike from Rang Ghar.
