Court directs Ranjita Jaisowal to continue as DMB chairperson

Dhekiajuli, Nov 19: Lobby-centric politics among Dhekiajuli BJP ward commissioners led to the split between them. The power struggle among the BJP ward commissioners continues in Dhekiajuli Municipality Board (DMB).   The ongoing power struggle for the post of chairman in the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board started on October 3 when the five BJP ward commissioner of Dhekiajuli Municipality Board moved a no-confidence  against chairperson Ranjita Jaisowal. Later, to discuss the no-confidence motion the chairperson of the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board convened a general meeting  on November 3  at the Dhekiajuli Municipality Board Complex. The meeting was attended by  the  ADC Kamaljit Talukdar and  Executive Officer of Dhekiajuli Municipality Board,  Liza Talukdar. The no-confidence motion was tabled by the chairperson. The chairperson Ranjita Jaisowal lost the motion and later the officers ordered  its vice-chairman Abhijit Das  to function as acting chairman till a new chairman took charge.
