SHILLONG Oct 15: There is going to be a lot more activities during this year Puja celebrations at rtiang compared to the past few years after the Central Puja Committee (CPC) agreed to help in facilitating all other activities.

Stating that rtiang has been one of the core area of activities for CPC, he said that the CPC is not a religious body but the role of the CPC is simply to facilitate and coordite the movements of the various Mandir’s, Puja Committees with the government and other agencies.

“From 2007 till 2011 we were actively involved in rtiang and we have done a lot of infrastructure development like the priest quarters, guest house besides other things,” he said.

He informed that on October 11, the Daloi, Lyngdohs and members from rtiang Dorbar came to Shillong and they have decided to form their own Puja committee there.

He said that as far as CPC is concerned right from day one they have been very clear that they do not want to interfere with the traditiol form of worship with is being practiced in rtiang.

“We have told them that since the Daloi is the head who looks after the puja activities, we want the Puja celebrations to be performed in the traditiol way which has been done for the past hundreds of years,” he said.
