PATHSALA, May 8: The members of Bajali Anchalik committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M), led by Dharani Sarma, district member, held street corner  meetings at different places of Pathsala town in Barpeta district. The speakers spoke against price hike of petrol and diesel and the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The meeting also protested against the proposed move of the Centre to hand over maintenance of prominent heritage sites and historical monuments in Assam to private companies.  After the meeting, a delegation on four members led by Dharani Sarma went to the SDO Civil office and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy P, SDO (C) of Bajali subdivision, in support of their demands.
