CPI-M says 'redoubled' resolve to overcome interl weaknesses

Kolkata, Dec 31: The CPI-M on Thursday asserted it was the only party that can offer a policy altertive and a better political culture, as it called on workers to preserve and strengthen inner party unity. At the conclusion of the organisatiol plenum here, Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Sitaram Yechury said the party has successfully completed the mandate of redoubling its resolve to overcome interl weaknesses and meet exterl challenges. “The plenum has adopted both the draft resolution and the draft report and by doing that we have completed the mandate of the 21st party congress (held in Vishakhapatm). “We have redoubled our resolve to strengthen our party and on that basis to strengthen the unity of Left forces and on that basis to forge the Left and democratic front in order to change the correlation of political forces of people’s democracy and socialism,” said Yechury.

Describing the CPI-M as a revolutiory party with a mass line, Yechury exuded confidence of the party offering to the people a “policy altertive, a better political culture which fights corruption, moral degradation and degeneration which is there today rampant in Indian politics”. “We are the party that will set the agenda for India, the people’s agenda in the coming days. That is the resistance against the plunder by the ruling class that we are seeing. “There are many challenges before us, but every period of crises has a period of new opportunities. And the CPI-M is determined to seize these opportunities and march ahead,” he said. Declaring the party’s resolve to fight against the neoliberal policies of the “commul and authoritarian” BJP government, Yechury emphasised on need to preserve and strengthen inner party unity. “In order to do that, we will have to combat all the deviations that are there inside our party. The only weapon to fight all such deviations is party unity. This unity has to be preserved and strengthened. “We should guard the unity of the party like pupil of our eye,” Yechury said quoting Ho Chi Minh. “We have successfully completed the mandate of the 21st party congress and in a period of eight months we have delivered a very health premature baby.

“A premature baby in terms of the doubling of our resolve to overcome our interl weaknesses, meet the exterl challenges and change the correlation off political forces among the Indians, to meet the electoral changes and ultimately march towards a better India. We need to nurture this baby. It is upon us to rise to the occasion,” Yechury added.
