CPI (M) to increase organizatiol activities in Tripura

AGARTALA, Sept 6: The CPI (M) in Tripura has decided to increase organizatiol activities to pre-empt growing aggressiveness of the opposition political parties.

State secretary of the CPI (M) Bijon Dhar said this while addressing a press conference here after a two day-long meeting of the state committee.

 Dhar admitted that there is some lacu in their organizatiol activities and said the opposition is taking advantage of that.  He said all the grass root level committees of the party and the mass organisations has been instructed to increase contact with the people specially belongs to working class who got misguided and aligning with the opposition reactiory forces. He did not hide his concern over the growing aggressiveness of the Trimool Congress and the Indigenous tiolist Party of Twipra who are grabbing every issue and trying to infuriate public passion.

‘They tried to instigate people on issues like bad condition of tiol highway, proposed hike in property tax and lastly the violence over IPFT procession’, he said.

The state committee specially took note of the Trimool Congress’s attempt to project itself as preserver of tribal-non-tribal amity which was till now the sole property of the CPI (M).

In view of this the party has decided to launch a state wide campaign from every platform depicting the opposition parties as forces who are disrupting the harmony among the tribals and non-tribals.

Beside this the party also decided to launch campaign on issues concerning people like price rise, atrocities on dalits and minorities, safronisation of higher education etc.

The state committee also expressed concern over irregular payment of various social security pensions and allowances meant for senior citizen and weaker sections of the society. The state committee also asked the State Government to ensure that the pension and allowance of the senior citizens can be delivered at home.
