CPI (ML) condemns rape and murder of Margherita girl

MARGHERITA, May 11: While vehemently condemning the brutal rape and murder of Champa Chetry, resident of Baragolai under Margherita Police Station of Tinsukia district, whose body was found on May 3 at Dehing River in Lama gaon, Margherita by Margherita Police, CPI (ML) Assam State Standing Committee member and Tinsukia district secretary Comrade Subhas Sen demanded life imprisonment for the culprits and a judicial enquiry into the incident. Comrade Subhas Sen said that rape and then murder had become frequent crimes against women and to fight against such crimes, anti-feudal and anti- patriarchal social values were necessary.
