CPI (ML) protests against arrest of Parimal Gorh

Dibrugarh, May 26: A sit-in was staged under the initiative of the district committee members  of CPI (ML)  here at Chowkidinghee Chariali on Wednesday to showcase their resentment over the attack of the  BJP government on the constitutiol validity of the pillars of democracy and  on our right to speech.

 In this regard a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner for taking necessary steps against the anti-democratic forces that have been trying to kill the essence of democracy, to withdraw all the cases against the member of CPI (ML) Parimal Gorh who was unlawfully arrested by Biswath Chariali Police and was sent to jail custody, and arrest of State Water Resources Minister Ranjit Dutta for his alleged corruption.

  As stated in the memorandum, Parimal Gorh was arrested for raising protest against the alleged corrupt activities of State Water Resources Minister Ranjit Dutta.  The arrest of Gorh was carried out to curb his right to speech and democracy. Through the memorandum,  the members of  the district committee called upon all sections of people of the society to make a united stand against the undemocratic acts of the BJP government.
