CPI stages NH blockade

BILASIPARA, May 14: In protest against the amendment of the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Act by the BJP government, the Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a tiol highway blockade on Thursday all over the country. Around 500 CPI activists blocked NH-31 at yahat under Bilasipara cvil subdivision under the leadership of Giasuddin Ahmed, former Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly. Police arrested the agitators and released them later.
