Crackdown on gambling

Dhubri, March 18: Dhubri police has cracked down on gambling and anti-social activities in Dhubri town and in a series of actions. A few days back, it raided Dhubri Boys’ Club located near Dhubri Mela Maidan and sealed the club. It also arrested two persons and recovered Rs 1,500. “On a tip-off that gambling was going on in the club, we raided the club and the Dhubri election officer sealed it. We are taking action against all the illegal and anti-social activities in the town,” OC Kamal Chandra Sil said.
