Cracks appear in Sonitpur Congress

Tezpur, May 11: Party workers of Sonitpur Congress have been divided into various factions and there is confusion in the party. Alleging serious anti-party activities during the last assembly election, the workers of Sakumatu  Block Congress committee, including Piush g, Kar Karat, Himachal Bachwar, Muhan Kandapan, Puneswar Kanu and president of Sakumata Anchalick panchayat, Damayanti Ramchiary, Zila Parishad member Purnima g and other elected members, said in a press statement that the APCC president was trying to hold some anti-Congress people in major posts of the Sonitpur Congress. Such people had openly stood against the Congress during the last assembly election, favouring the BJP because of which the Congress had to lose the Biswath seat. In the press note, the sigtories also alleged that despite allegation of breaking party discipline against some workers, APCC president Ripun Bora was appointing then in some major posts of the Sonitpur Congress. The press note further said that the Congress workers had given full support to able and veteran Congress leader and former minister Nurjamal Sarkar and the matter would be informed to the Congress high command for intervention in the mater.
