GUWAHATI, July 2: The next edition of the different Inter District Cricket Tourments will kick off from the third week of August. Senior and U-19 Categories will be held in the first phase.

Inter District Cricket meets were not held in the last season as the new committee of ACA decided to arrange it in the middle part of this year to provide much needed match practice to the state cricketers before the start of the season.

The secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Pradip Buragohain said The Sentinel, “It was planned to organize the Inter District Competitions little earlier but because of the Independence Day programme many grounds would not be available for a certain period and we have to stop the competition at the middle. So we have decided to start from the third week of August.

He also added that the schedule of the competitions will now be placed to the Governing Body for formal approval.

Meanwhile Assam Cricket Association, as a part of the preparation of the Ranji Trophy, will send its team to KSCA Cricket meet. The competition will be held in Bengaluru from the third week of July. Buragohain informed that after the end of the fitness camp, which is now in progress, selected cricketers will attend a special field camp which will start at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium from July 7. Later the team will be selected from the camp for KSCA tourment.
