Crimes surge in State

SHILLONG, Jan 22: On January 21, Debasish Das of 1/6 Basement, Kalkaji Extn., New Delhi lodged a complaint that while conducting survey at Police Bazar, Shillong, it was detected that some shop owners are selling counterfeit products of Hindustan Unilever Ltd. In another incident on the very sameĀ  around 11 am, one decomposed body identified as that of one Sher Bahadur (60 yrs) was recovered from a drain at Polo Bazar, Shillong. Necessary formalities were done and the matter is under enquiry.

Meanwhile, police conducted raid in areas under Khaidong (EJH) on January 20 and recovered seized forty-one gelatin sticks and forty detotors from one coal quarry. Police also detained one Jenis Lyngdoh of Sutnga village, who was transporting a generator from one camp to another in one recovery van.

On January 17, around 11 pm, one Living Malngiang assaulted his nineteen year old daughter in her residence at Thangshalai, Mawryngkneng (EKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at zareth Hospital, Shillong.

One Kailash Verma of Pegasus Crown, Police Bazar, Shillong lodged a complaint on January 17, that he received two e-mails from Income Tax officials informing him that his password and digital sigture has been updated. The complaint suspected that one Sushyant Verma and one Kamala Verma had by deceit, forgery and fraudulent means changed the password and digital sigture to gain wrongfully by defrauding the Government and other statutory agencies besides the company Pegasus Hotels Pvt. Ltd.
