Crimil cases margilly  increased in 2017: HM

Itagar, March 15: Aruchal Pradesh Home Minister Kumar Waii on Wednesday informed that crimil cases in the State have margilly increased in 2017 with a total of 2,731 cases registered during the year. Responding to a question from senior PPA member Tanga Byaling during question hour, the Minister informed that a total of 2,699 cases were registered in the State during 2016. “Heinous crimes like murder, attempt to murder, rape, kidpping, dacoity and robbery has slightly decreased in 2017 (363 cases) in comparison to 2016 where 366 cases were registered,” Waii informed and added that there was reduction in number of rape cases in 2017 with only 63 cases reported while in 2016 a total of 92 cases were registered.
Responding to supplementary regarding measures taken by the Government to contain crime and crimils, the Home Minister informed that the Government had taken up opening of new police stations and creation of manpower of different ranks from time to time.
“The police department is conducting regular refresher course at police training center, Banderdewa, besides regular interaction of district SSP with senior officers, meeting with stakeholders, use of scientific intelligence, awareness campaign, installation of CCTV cameras in sensitive areas and constitution of grik Bhaichara Samities in all the district,” he added.
