Crimil gang busted

SHILLONG, April 30: The Shillong city police on Thursday apprehended five crimils involved in a car theft racket.  City SP Vivek Syiem said that a Bolero pick-up vehicle of Woodland Hospital with registration number ML05 0035 was stolen from the parking lot of the hospital on April 27.

In this connection, one person - Chandra Prakash Sharma alias Mithu Sharma (35), a resident of Sweeper Lane, Mawlonghat.

Syiem said after the investigation, police recovered the vehicle from Nongjri Raid Mawbah, Umsning from the house of one Ridalin Lamare. The vehicle was kept there at the insistence of Margaret Lamare (mother-in-law of Sharma) who has also been arrested.

Later, police also apprehended Raju Biswa, Amar Deb Burman, and Shubash Dorjee.
