CRJWM demands immediate removal of five retired officers

A REPORTER
SHILLONG, Sept 14: The Chdooh Ri Jaintia Wa Maia (CRJWM) today questioned the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) reappointment of five retired officers on contractual basis even when there is a permanent Officer for each post, while also demanding the immediate removal of the five officers within a period of 10 day. “We cannot deny that under Service rule 1981 rule 12 (4) the JHADC can appoint retired persons on contractual basis, however the JHADC has is not complying with the rule when it comes to the salary of the persons appointed on contractual basis since the pay they are getting is the same as those who are being appointed on a permanent basis,” W. K Suchiang President CRJWM told media person here. According to him, the JHADC by giving a person who is on contractual basis the same kind of salary a permanent officer is receiving, the JHADC is only wasting the money of the people. He said that the District Council could have instead use the money for development in various parts of Jaintia Hills.
