CRPC forms Citizens' Right Coordition Committee'

Silchar, Nov 1: The Citizens’ Rights Preservation Committee (CRPC), Assam convened a meeting recently in Guwahati which was largely attended by the representatives of different social, cultural and students organizations of the State. Nripendra Chandra Saha, president of CRPC presided over the meeting. All the speakers expressed their anguish and concern for the news items published in the last few days regarding the seemingly predetermined and biased approach of the authorities towards filization of the NRC. CRPC renewed its pledge to safeguard the constitutiol and human rights of the genuine Indian tiols.

 For close interaction among the people of Assam, a coordition committee was formed with all the members present in the meeting in which Nripendra Chandra Saha will be acting as the chief convener while two other conveners will be renowned advocate Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury and poet, litterateur and former Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Dr Tapodhir Bhattacharjee. It was further resolved that the newly constituted Citizens’ Right Coordition Committee (CRCC) will work towards creating and sustaining constructive and inclusive atmosphere for ensuring healthy coexistence among different communities of Assam. Beside, Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury was also entrusted with the responsibility of coorditing with all concerned regarding legal matters for safeguarding Citizens’ Rights of the linguistic and religious minorities of Assam.
