CRPCC launches its website

Silchar, April 19: In a bid to facilitate people to know and gather information about the historical background of NRC, its update process, its significance and relevance, the newly floated Citizen Rights Protection Coordination Committee, Cachar, (CRPCC) has launched a website, citizenrightsassam. co.in, at a small function held in a hotel of Silchar on Thursday. The website carries all the details regarding NRC, its importance and background and contains some brilliant and enriching articles on the subject. The website has been launched by Prof Niranjan Dutta in the august presence of former Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Prof Dr Tapodhir Bhattacharjee and former MLA Ataur Rahman Mazarbhuiya.

Briefing the media-persons, Kishore Kumar Bhattacharjee said, “The fate of Hindu Bengalis of Assam is lurking in the dark. These people can connect and communicate to us through this website. The website contains writings by Sujit Chaudhuri and others. Though it is now a bilingual website, we are open to articles on Hindi also. The gallery section of the website contains photographs from the past, from the days of partition which evokes feelings of pain. A number of teachers from schools, colleges, Assam University and lawyers have helped us in making this informative website”. Among others who spoke on the occasion included Ataur Rahman Mazarbhuiya, Nilotpaul Choudhury, executive director of Sankha Group of Publications and advocate Imad Uddin Bulbul.
