CRPF holds awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Mission

JORHAT, Jan 21: Office of the Inspector General of CRPF (operation) and 119 battalion of the Central Reserve Police based at Rowriah, Jorhat organized an awareness programme on Swachchata Mission as part of their civic programme, said Balraj Behra, the commandant of the 119 battalion from Central Reserve Police who attended as the chief guest organized by CRPF, Jorhat and by the locals of Bolia Gohain Pukhuri Sangrangshan Samiti. Attending as the chief guest, Balraj Behra, commandant from 119 CRPF battalion, explained about the awareness programme of Swachh Bharat Mission and its importance. “The 119 battalion so far has taken up several programme for clearing several dumping grounds, ponds, pits and streams within the city of Jorhat, the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital premises, Rajamaidam, historic tanks and Rowriah Sankardev grounds,” he said. Balraj Behra called upon the people to do cleanliness drive at least for an hour on the 20th day of every month.

The awareness program was presided and anchored by Prasanta Borgohain, a local social activist while Putul Burahgohain, former OSD to Assam Government, Dr. Saurav  Borkotoky, Superintendent of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Mohen Baruah, for Joint Director-Health, Padma Gogoi, former chief engineer-PWD, Tapan Burahgohain and Anil Kumar Singh-deputy commandant of 119 battalion, were the guest speakers who spoke on the occasion about the importance of the Swachchata Mission.
