SIVASAGAR, April 18: A CRPF jawan committed suicide by shooting himself in his camp in Sivasagar today. SI/GD Hemendra Singh of 149 Battalion of CRPF shot himself with an AK 47 rifle on Friday night inside the camp at Joysagar. Post mortem of the deceased had already been done at Civil Hospital, Sivasagar, said police. CRPF sources said that Hemendra Singh hailed from Gopalpur village of Odisha. Police are trying to ascertain why the CRPF jawan took such an extreme step.
