SHILLONG, March 2: Two persons sustained injuries in a crude bomb blast at a petrol pump located in Shallang, West Khasi Hills. The area of occurrence is in militant infested area located in the border of East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills. Two persons identified as Depa rayan and Menjitis Sangma sustained inuries in the attack at around 6.15 a.m.

West Khasi Hills SP confirmed the attack by an armed group, while putting the il of suspicion on the AMEF. The AMEF is a breakaway faction of the dreaded and proscribed GNLA. The AMEF is already is the initial stage of peace parley with the government under the leadership of Jack Marak.

Following the attack, the special operation team of the Police has launched a massive man hunt to b the culprits, even as another source told The Sentinel that they have rrowed down on the me of the people involved in the attack.
