HOWRAGHAT, Feb 4: Storage of crude oil in Karbi Anglong hill district has been reported by the Oil India Private Limited. In this regard, Duliajan based Oil India Ltd. higher officials arrived in Diphu, Karbi Anglong for a two-day visit.
The senior officials of the Oil India visited Diphu led by Diponjoy Daulaguphu, Tridip Hazarika, Diganta Borah, Pallav Borgohain and M R Deuri. The Oil officials on Thursday met the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and district administration of Karbi Anglong and apprised them about the availability of crude oil in eastern part of Diphu like Dilaji, Doldoli, Dhansiri, Rongapahar and Maisibailam areas.
They have also added that earlier the areas had been recognized and surveyed for the exact location of the availability of crude oil. Meanwhile, both KAAC and district administration have agreed to provide full support to them because it will boost the social and economic sector as well as increase the employment sector in the district.
The Oil India Ltd. officials said that the extraction or mining work will start after the Assam Assembly election.
