CS burns effigy of State Home department

mrup, March 21: Registering its protest for the complete failure on the part of the State Government to arrest the prime accused of the Silapathar incident, Subodh Biswas, the activists of mrup Anchalik Chatra Santha organized a grand burial procession along with a three-hour bandh from 10 am to 12 pm on Tuesday at mrup. The burial procession, carrying the effigy of the State Government’s Home Department, was taken out from Sori Tiniali to Lalpagurighat’s burial ground where the effigy was burnt by following all traditiol customs. Students from different educatiol institutions and people from all walks of life actively took part in the procession by shouting various slogans. Among others, delegates from AASU Dibrugarh district committee, Likhan Baruah , president, Sankar Jyoti Baruah, general secretary and Jayanta Dowarah, vice-president, were present in the protest.
