CSB Bill passed on concluding day of BTC budget session

KOKRAJHAR, July 20: The three-day budget session of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly concluded on Wednesday at the Council Legislative Assembly at Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar.

On the concluding day normal budget including plan and non-plan of Rs 2182.96 crore for the year 2016-17, which was presented by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, who is also in-charge of fince, was approved in the house. The house also passed the Bodoland Central Selection Board (CSB) Bill, 2012.

The Speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly, Tridip Daimary announced the extension of the committees on education, public works departments and development departments. Talking to media persons, Daimary said, “We have passed the Bodoland Central Selection Board, Bill, 2012 and will be sent to the Governor for approval. The house has also constituted a 15-member all party delegation team including the members of opposition group under the leadership of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary to meet the Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on fund position and implementation of some clauses of the Bodo Accord which are yet to be implemented.”

Daimary also said that four representatives from People’s Committee for Democratic Rights (PCDR), an opposition party, one each from AIUDF and Oboro Aikya Moncha and rest from ruling party BPF will be meeting the Chief Minister on or before July 26.
