CSIR-NEIST transfers herbal anti-arthritis technology for commercial production

JORHAT, Sept 10: CSIR-NEIST transferred its technology on ‘Herbal Anti-Arthritis formulation’ for commercial production to M/s Kudos Laboratories India, New Delhi on September 9, 2016 in association with NRDC, New Delhi. A team from Kudos Laboratories led by Karan Goomar, proprietor of the company visited CSIR-NEIST in between September 8- September 10 and had intensive discussion and interaction with the technology team and its director, Dr D Ramaiah.

Arthritis is a major socio-economic burden of the modern life style and will continue to attract research and development efforts for a new effective therapy. CSIR-NEIST herbal formulation against arthritis is effective in both rheumatoid arthritis and other joint pains. Since its development in the year 2010, the institute has transferred the marketing rights to five parties across the country and has been well received by the patients and users.

The technology, which has been transferred-licensed for the first time, is a major step towards Swastha Bharat Mission of the Prime Minister of India taken up by the institute. CSIR-NEIST successfully transferred the know-how package and provided demonstration/training besides signing a tripartite MoU with the client during the period. In the formal MoU signing ceremony held on Friday, Goomar appreciated the contribution of CSIR-NEIST in providing affordable healthcare product to the society over the years and assured that Kudos would give its best to continue this mission by reaching out to the society and making the product at affordable price.
