CSWO condemns rape of teeger

SHILLONG, Sept 16: The CSWO (I) Central Body under the leadership of its president Irene Hujon has condemned the heinous crime committed by a church elder in allegedly raping his own 16 year old niece when she was aged 9.

“We strongly condemn this barbaric act committed by Lampher Kharpan (50) against his own niece at his residence in Kreit (Shiliang Um) since the year 2010 till 2011,” hujon said in a statement released here on Friday.

Expressing concern over the growing crimes committed against women and young children, the organisation has urged upon concern authority to take stern action against the accused so that the victim can get justice.

“We will continue to tract this case until it reaches its fil conclusion,” she said.
