Cultural organization celebrates silver jubilee year

Silchar, July 16: Prera, a Silchar based socio literary cultural and sport organization, in its 25th year, conducted an art competition, free blood dotion and diabetic check-up camp at Hasi Khushi Bhawan in Silchar on Sunday. A large number of school going children from Class III to Class X participated in the art competition. These students were categorized according to their class and each category were given a separate theme to draw on. These topics included Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, ocean activities, ocean creatures, scenery, idols and rituals of the country.

 Students from Classes III to IV were asked to draw any flower or fruit with crayons, students from V to VI were asked to draw or paint any tural scenery with crayon or water colour, students from VII to VIII on ocean activity or ocean creature with water colour and from IX to X on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their locality or art world including human figure in any position with crayons or water colours or anything else. A separate open category was also kept for any interested candidate up to the age of 20.

 Such candidates were asked to draw or paint any famous idol or ritual of India. A number of people were seen doting blood and going for diabetes  check-up. Red Cross Society of this town has extended its full support and cooperation to Prera in organizing the blood dotion camp. Prera, an NGO established in the year 1993 with its motto Be Man and Make A Man, is a non profit organization which is engaged in social services. Over the years, Prera has organized a number of art competitions, merit tests, debates, elocution and extempore competitions.
