'Culture and tradition important parts of society'

KOKRAJHAR, Dec  8: The first annual convention of All Bodoland Artistes’ Association (ABAA), Kokrajhar district committee concluded recently at the Kokrajhar Music and Fine Arts College auditorium hall.

As part of the programme, the president of the ABAA, Kokrajhar district committee, Akalabya Brahma hoisted the organizatiol flag while the advisor Umesh Chandra Brahma paid floral tribute. The president of the ABAA, central committee, Bikash Basumatary iugurated the dance and singing competition followed by delegate meeting which was iugurated by Bodo film producer, play writer, actor and advisor of the association, Swapan Kr. rzary.

Addressing the open session, the BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare, Doneswar Goyary said the culture and tradition were important parts of the society and artistes had a vital role to play. He called upon the artistes to work with a good message for the society. He said the society was in need to be reformed from certain dissipation as the young generation was heading towards indecency. He also said there should be separate fund like Annual Operatiol Plan (AOP) for the artistes who desire to take part in the tiol-level competitions or intend to go abroad for the purpose of cultural activities. President of the ABAA, Kokrajhar district committee, Akalabya Brahma said the association discussed the various limitations of artistes. He also said the association had decided to work for the development of culture, tradition and film industry in BTC, besides keeping an eye on professiol aspects.
