Current generation is living in troubled times: Ravi Shankar

SHILLONG, Dec 15: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living today at a function held at Polo Ground said the current generation is living in troubled times and the people should open their ear in order to open the heart. Addressing the function held at Polo, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, said that purity of mind, clarity of mind and sincerity of action are the secret to simple living. At the same time one should remove man-made barriers- religion, tribe besides others. He called upon the audience to put up their hands and spend two hours every Sunday to clean up the drains.  “The open drains and the garbage is a problem to the people which is the breeding ground of diseases,” he said. According to him, the benefits of meditation includes improvement of intuitive ability and innovative ability, inspires people and it increases intelligence. “I want to see a peaceful, drug free, poverty free, healthy and prosperous Meghalaya and I wish the volunteers of Art of Living could do a happiness survey and find out what makes people unhappy,” he said.
