'Current stalemate due to arrogance of government'

New Delhi, July 31: The Congress on Friday said the current stalemate in parliament was due to the “obduracy and arrogance” of Prime Minister rendra Modi and his government. “The opposition is doing its duty in raising issues which are in public domain. Parliament has to ensure the accountability of the government,” Congress spokesman And Sharma told the media. He said the country was waiting to hear “what happened between him and waz Sharif at (Russian city) Ufa. He has not spoken”. “We are left only to hear the Pakistani version of what was discussed and what was committed. This country has to be taken into confidence. The prime minister cannot brazen it out by remaining silent,” he added. Sharma said the Congress party had made a very reasoble proposition to the government over the logjam in parliament. “If there was a deadlock in the house, the parliamentary affairs minister was entrusted by the cabinet to talk to the leaders in the opposition to break the deadlock. This government has until today made no effort,” he said. (IANS)
