Curtains down on KU Winter Festival

Jorhat, January 13: The closing ceremony of the three–day ‘KU Winter Festival’ of Assam Kaziranga University was held at the university campus in Jorhat. The closing ceremony was iugurated by M.D Khetan, Chancellor of Kaziranga University in presence of Vishal V Solanki, Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat, Major General Vinod Kumar, GOC, 41 sub–area, rendra Paul, Commandant– CRPF, Sunil Patkar, Director of Jorhat Airport authority, Basant Khetan, Pro – Chancellor of Kaziranga University and Dr. P.K. Mishra, President of North Eastern Knowledge Foundation, stated a press release.

It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony for the various outdoor, indoor and culture events. The closing ceremony featured a fashion show and attractive performances by aspiring youths from all over the Northeast. The spectacular attraction of the closing ceremony was a magnificent performance by the famed ‘Gramophone Children’ and ‘Cyndi Seui’, DJ group from Bangkok. The closing ceremony witnessed the gathering of more than 4,500 youths who had participated in the three–day colourful festival at Kaziranga University.

The Winter Festival acted as a platform for interaction among the youths of the different schools and colleges in the field of dance, music, fine arts etc. As part of the three–day festival, a number of competitions like photography, gaming, solo and group dancing, singing, fun quiz, extempore, fashion show, outdoor sports, music competition were held.
