Curtains fall on Jungle Theatre Festival

Gohpur, March 21: The three-day long 2nd tiol Jungle Theatre Festival concluded successfully at Bhakatchuk in Gohpur subdivision recently. Eight plays from various places of Assam as well as India were staged in the event. Dr. Indranoshee Das, SDO civil Gohpur, iugurated the drama festival and the theatre site was iugurated by renowned poet and dramatist Rofiqul Hussain. Jungle Theatre Festival’s convener Baat Theatre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, staged a play titled Xomoy 83' son.  Seven other plays were also staged.

A souvenir was unveiled by well-known writer Jardon Goswami, edited by Amlan Jyoti Saikia. Sahitya Akademi award winning poet Gyan Pujari, Dr. Anjan Kumar Ozah, Principal of Chaiduar College, veteran dramatist Mohini Borah, educationist Lokeswari Handique, social activist Jadav Chaliha and social activist Sidheswar Hazarika were felicitated by the Baat Theatre group in the festival.
