Cyber Crime: Man Arrested for Opening Fake Facebook Accounts of Assam Police Senior Officials

GUWAHATI, July 22: In what has been considered as a major breakthrough against cyber crimes, the city police has arrested Suleiman Ibrahim Ali in a case (Panbazar PS case no 341/18) connected with the opening of fake FB account in the names of many senior police officers. Police also recovered 47 mobile phones, 13 tabs, 15 SIM cards and other gadgets from him. Ali has admitted to have opened as many as 17 fake accounts (Facebook) in the names of senior police officers and made many ISD calls. Investigation is on to find out any large-scale conspiracy behind it. The arrested person is son of Zafar Ali, house no. 19, Anupam path, Sijubari, under Hatigaon police station.
