Dalai Lama representative arrives in Tawang

Itagar, Feb 17: Tempa Tsering, representative of the 14th Dalai Lama, accompanied by Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik Affairs (DoKAA) chairman Jambey Wangdi, landed at Lumla Heliport in Tawang on Thursday to a rousing reception led by RWD Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi, Tawang DC Sang Phuntso, Lumla ADC RD Thungon, Padmashree Lama Thupten Phuntsok and monks.

The former Kalon (Minister) of Central Tibetan Administration, accompanied by the entourage visited Dolma Lhagang, the mega Tara Devi statue. He also nodded to Lumla MLA Jambey Tashi’s plea for the consecration of Dolma Lhagang by His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his Tawang visit. Tsering, who is also the brother-in-law of the Nobel laureate, is on a five-day tour to Aruchal to inspect and filize the upcoming visit of the Dalai Lama to the state. He will also visit Dirang and Bomdila after inspecting and convening a series of meetings in Tawang headquarter, an official communiqué informed here today.
