GUWAHATI, June 5: A review meeting on the forthcoming One Day International between Indian and West Indies scheduled to be held in the city in October was held today at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) Dist Virendra Mittal presided over the meeting which was also attended by the officials of the District Administration, Assam Police, Assam Cricket Association and many other departments who are related with the different infrastructure development issues.

Mittal reviewed all the ongoing works carried out by various departments like PWD (R), Water Resource, APDCL, GMC etc. He emphasized all work to be accomplished one month before the match. On the other hand as the game will be a Day and Night match so he asked GMC officials to put sufficient light in an around the stadium. For the smooth conveyance of the spectators and the players all roads are leading to the stadium to be refurbished and he advised the officials of the concern department to give importance for the widening of certain roads which are quite narrow.

Mittal also announced in the meeting that he will review the progress of the works in every 15 days in which the officials will have to submit their progress report. Joint Commissioner of Police Diganta Bora and Assam Cricket Association’s General Secretary Pradip Buragohain were among the key officials who attended today’s meeting.
