Death anniversary of Parag Kumar Das observed

Jorhat, May 17: The Mab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS), Jorhat district committee, organized a day-long programme in Jorhat to mark the 20th death anniversary of jourlist Parag Kumar Das on Tuesday. The programme was held at Jorhat Press Club where MASS adviser Jibeswar Saikia was in the chair. In the meeting MASS vice-chairman resh Goswami and jourlist Niranjan Mahanta unimously said that Parag Kumar Das was not only a jourlist but also a crusader of the human rights movement in Assam. He also introduced a new trend in Assamese jourlism during his lifetime. He was a social activists, author, human rights activists and jourlist and he made a remarkable contribution to the Assamese society which would always inspire the upcoming generation.
