New Schedule for Assam Class 10 & 12 Board Exams: Assam education minister, Ranoj Pegu said on Monday that a decision on the new schedule for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams would be taken by 25th May. Earlier the HSLC and AHSEC Exams were postponed until further notice. As per reports, the Education Minister, had said that all the final year candidates might get an option to appear for only three subjects.

The minister on Monday said, " The candidates usually need to appear for 6 papers in the examination. As the COVID19 situation will not improve completely, the proposal where candidates will need to appear for 3 papers has been considered to reduce the period of the exam schedule. If it is done, then the entire exam can be completed in 10-12 days."

He also mentioned that the proposal to conduct exams for 3 papers has already been submitted and is being considered. The final decision on the conduction of the Final year exams will be taken by the 25th of May, 2021.

He further added that if the State Health Authorities allow conducting the exams with guidelines, the education board will be able to hold the exams within 15 days prior notice to the parents and students for their cooperation.

It was also reported that the Education Minister had also visited the Assam Textbook Production and Publication Corporation and informed that the Assam Education Board is prepared to hold the class 10 and 12 board Exams in a 15 day notice period. He has also planned to digitalise all textbooks for all the Schools from May 17th.

The Assam Education Board had scheduled to conduct the exams for classes 10 and 12 from the 11th of May. But earlier on May 4th, the Education Department had decided on postponing the SEBA final year examinations until further notice. And in the wake of the current situation, the Assam Education Board have canceled the higher secondary first-year examinations and had promoted all students to 2nd year.
