Defense service aspirant dies

TANGLA, Feb 7: The dream of a family to see their son joining the armed forces was shattered after their 17-year-old son collapsed on the ground while practicing to qualify in the physical screening for military recruitment. He died due to multiple organ failure.

Gopi Boro (17),  a HS 2nd year student of Tangla College who was also an NCC cadet and aspired to join the defense service and serve his tion, was undergoing rigorous practice since the last couple of days to appear in a military recruitment test at Missamari in Sonitpur district. He, along with his cousin, was running near his home village Erabari under Tangla PS in Udalguri when all of a sudden he collapsed on the ground and died on Monday evening.

Family members rushed him to the 30-bedded Tangla CHC where doctors declared him brought dead.
