Deka's controversial comment sparks massive protests in Hojai

HOJAI, Dec 28: Hundreds of BJP leaders and supporters on Monday assembled at Police Point at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose statue at Hojai and staged a massive protest against the Congress for Nilamoni Sen Deka’s controversial remarks referring Union Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani as Prime Minister rendra Modi’s second wife. The protesters strongly condemned the defamatory comment and demanded Deka’s arrest. BJP leaders of the district unit of Hojai marched from the party headquarter office to the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose statue at Police Point of Pura Bazar where they shouted slogans against Deka and Rupjyoti Kurmi.  They demanded arrest of this duo. They burnt the effigy of MLA Nilmoni Sen Deka and Rupjyoti Kurmi on the main road of Pura Bazar. Uttam Das, president of BJP Hojai district unit, said, “The character of the Congress has been exposed. The Congress high command led by Sonia Gandhi should apologize.”
