Delhi Public School hosts CBSE Table-Tennis Tournament 2018

SIVASAGAR: DPS ONGC, Nazira has hosted the CBSE Cluster-1 Table-Tennis Tournament, 2018 recently.

A total number of 97 participants from 12 different schools of North-East, took part in the Tournament. The tournament was started with a formal inaugural session on September 28. Rajib Thapa, ACS, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Nazira Sub-Division and Rajeev Kumar, GM-Finance, ONGC- Assam Asset & Pro-Vice Chairman of the school, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

During the inaugural session, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were felicitated with a sapling and a ‘phulam gamusa’. The welcome address was offered by the secretary, Organizing Committee which was followed by a Welcome Song by the young Dipsites. Further the President, Sports Council, DPS ONGC Nazira introduced the Match-Officials to the august gathering.

The Tournament was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest with the unfurling of the CBSE flag and the formal announcement of the opening of this mega event. After this, the oath was administered by the Chief Guest that was followed by the participants. As a part of this inaugural programme, a Mizo Bamboo Dance was presented by the students of the school. The session was concluded with the National Anthem, paying homage to the motherland.
