Demand for land compensation picks up

ITANAGAR, Aug 27: Trans-Arunachal Highway Land Affected People Forum Kamle district has on Monday served 10 days ultimatum to state government to initiate re-verification and disbursement of land compensation between Potin to Bopi while addressing a press conference here at Arunachal Press Club.

President of the forum Dinesh Maga learned that Chief Secretary (CS) on 31 June issued an order for re-verification from Potin to Bopi from 17 August but interestingly again Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ziro on 12 August issued a notification for re-verification from Potin – ANYA gate while keeping aside the rest of the road.

“Why despite of clear order by CS the matter could not start, and why from Potin to ANYA gate and not from Potin to Bopi?” asked Maga while demanding the matter to subjected to CBI and immediate display and re-verification of beneficiaries list from Ziro 12 km to Bopi in the office of DC Kamle district.

Demanding immediate arrest of all the officers and engineers involved in the huge misappropriation of fund, the forum further appealed to the the local representative of Kamle district Tamar Murtem to come out and support the local beneficiaries of his district.

“Keeping silent in the infamous issue of TAH land compensation directly shows that local MLA is also involved in the corruption,” general secretary of the forum Puri Kao Bora alleged.

The forum further asked the state government and the CS to hand over all the TAH-related documents and information to DC Kamle district and ADC as the district has already been established with competent administration authority.

If the demands are not made within the given timeframe it will compel the forum to initiate phase-wise democratic movement within the Kamle district, forum added.
