Demand for ministerial berth for one MLA from KA

HOWRAGHAT, April 7: As Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal is all set to expand his cabinet, demand for a ministerial berth from the autonomous hill district is gaining momentum among the people of the hill district and the BJP workers.
While taking no mes among the four BJP MLAs, the BJP workers demanded induction of a minister from Karbi Anglong in the Cabinet. Meanwhile, the saffron leaders urged Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on Saturday to take the issue seriously. They said that the people of the hill district supported the BJP during the last Assembly and KAAC elections, hoping to get full support from the BJP Government. The BJP workers of Karbi Anglong and supporters also clearly said that if this demand of the hill people was not fulfilled, it might lead to decline in public support for the party in the next parliamentary election.
The BJP maged to win in all the four assembly seats in Karbi Anglong - Diphu, Bokajan, Howraghat and Baithalangso in West Karbi Anglong. Besides, the KAAC was also captured by the BJP with absolute majority. In such a situation, it will be a major disappointment for the party workers and the people if at least one out of the four MLAs is not inducted into the State cabinet.
