Demand for setting up of more B Ed colleges

GUWAHATI, Aug 19: Brihattar Asomiya Yuva Mancha (BAYM) has demanded the setting up of at least 50 B Ed colleges in the State. This demand was made at a press meet in the Guwahati Press Club by the president of the city unit of the Mancha Mrinmoy Barua. He further said that the Education Minister should address and remove the anomalies in the B Ed colleges in the private sector in the State. The BAYM has also demanded the setting up of additional B Ed colleges for the teachers and that the B Ed course be reduced to one year.

Alternatively, he said that the Government should make arrangement to provide B Ed training to the candidates who have cleared the TET.

Barua further said that if the Government fails to fulfill the demands, the organization would take to the path of agitation to get the demands fulfilled.
