Demand for ST categorization of Goriya Moriya community

Bongaigaon, Feb 7: In support of various demands, the Goriya Moriya Desi Jatiya Parishad, Bongaigaon district committee took out a mass rally on Tuesday in Bongaigaon.  The rally, starting from ITI field of Bongaigaon, culmited in front of the DC office, Bongaigaon after moving through the town. In the DC office, the activists submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the DC, Bongaigaon regarding various demands of the organization.  Farizul Haq, president of the Bongaigaon district committee, said that their first demand was ST categorization of the Goriya Moriya community. “We also demand that harassment of the Goriya Moriya people in the me of D voter should be stopped. Unless our demands are fulfilled soon, we will adopt the path of agitation,” he said.
