Demand to improve infrastructure of Demow primary school

From a Correspondent

DEMOW, Feb 12:  The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Demow Regiol Committee had submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar through Demow Block Elementary Officer on December 13, 2016, drawing attention to the pathetic condition of Maskara Chah Mazdoor Primary School.

The Maskara Chah Mazdoor Primary School was established in the year 1984 and it was provincialized in the year 1987. After The Sentinel highlighted the pathetic condition of the school, the salary of Badal Kar, Headmaster of Maskara Chah Mazdoor Primary School, was allegedly held up from December, 2016.

“At a time when the Central and State governments are laying stress on digital education in schools, the dilapidated condition of the Maskara Chah Mazdoor Primary School is indeed rather shameful,” said Sanjay Prasad Sah, secretary of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Demow Regiol Committee.

Under Demow Block Elementary Office, Maskara Chah Mazdoor Primary School is the only school in Maskara Tea Estate. The school has poor infrastructure with the tin sheets mostly damaged. There is no tubewell inside the school campus. The tubewell outside the school does not work. There is no uril in the school and some rooms do not even have doors.

The school authorities are not interested in providing quality education, alleged the KMSS Demow Regiol Committee. They, along with the local people, have urged the State Education Minister to take immediate steps for improving the facilities and infrastructure of the school so that the students of the area can get proper educatiol facilities.
